The Gino Carlon Sawmill near Venice in Italy dried its wood burning wood chips in a 3MWt biomass bioler. Because the capacity of the boiler was larger than the driers required Gino Carlon still had to pay to dispose of their wood chips. After installing a Clean Cycle II (CCII) unit, however, they were able to sell megawatts back to the grid completely removing their disposal costs.
